The Canon 100mm f2.8 L IS Macro lens is great for capturing detailed images of the smallest subjects, boasting a 1:1 magnification ratio and 30cm closest focus, as well as a versatile medium telephoto focal length. This focal length gets you nice and close to your subject, even if you are staying back to keep your subject comfortable, which is particularly useful when using the lens to shoot human models, making portraiture another suitable application for this lens.

A bright f2.8 maximum aperture allows you to shoot with faster shutter speeds, thus increasing your performance in low-light conditions.
