The D5300 is the latest in this entry-level DSLR range from Nikon and despite having much in common with its predecessors, it features enough changes to make it a more-than-worthy new release. The 24.2MP APS-C Sensor and high-powered EXPEED 4 processor combination produce excellent image quality, great in low-light conditions and capable of speedy 5 frames per second bursts. The ISO range is 100-12800 but this can be expanded to 25600 with usable results. This camera can virtually see in the dark.

Equipped to focus on things moving and things standing still, and able to find a focal point in a dimly-lit room, the Nikon D5300 benefits from an excellent 39-point AF system. You can use the maximum number of points for moving subjects, or limit the points in use to better suit your current subject. This AF system is customisable to find the best fit for you, at this time and place. Frame your pictures with one of a pair of high-end options, a bright optical viewfinder, or a large 3.2-inch Vari-angle LCD screen, its moving ability benefitting video shooting, which the D5300 provides in Full HD, or shooting from more creative angles.
