Our Atlantic Dulse leaves are the perfect garnish on eggs, soups, savoury baking, potatoes, and poke bowls. Dulse is also popular blended into smoothies due to its detoxifying properties. A red seaweed, dulse (Palmaria palmata) is an excellent source of plant protein so makes a great choice for vegans, vegetarians, and anyone else looking to incorporate the ocean's superfood into their diet. Dulse also offers a high iodine content so is a great natural supplement for thyroid health.
Note: The fine white powder which may be evident on this seaweed frond is glutamine, a naturally occurring amino acid which rises to the surface of a wild harvested seaweed as it dries naturally. This is the source of wonderful umami flavour in wild-harvested seaweeds and is not to be confused with mould!
