Surgipack Hot & Cold Clay Pack Large

 All-Natural Clay Hot & Cold Pack. This device is intended to be applied externally to a body surface and provide cold or heat therapy to underlying tissues to relieve discomfort from muscular aches and pains.

Use cold: for temporary relief of sprains and strains, bumps and bruises, sports injuries, headaches, toothaches, insect bites, fevers. 

Use hot: for temporary relief of aches, arthritis, back pain, menstrual cramps, joint stiffness.

Clay retains heat better than gel. It is also very soft but does not 'flow' so forms to the body without leaving 'empty spots'. Remains flexible when frozen, even to -25°C.

TO USE HOT PACK:

Before heating, the pack should be at room temperature. If you store the pack in the freezer, follow the instructions for HEATING FROM THE FREEZER below.

CAUTION: Follow the instructions carefully. Misuse can cause burns. Overheating the pack in the microwave can damage or destroy the product. If any swelling is observed while heating turn, off the microwave immediately and wait for swelling to go down before opening microwave.

Place pack (not in fabric cover) in the centre of microwave. Flatten the pack and ensure clay is evenly distributed. Heat on HIGH power setting for the time indicated below.

1200W - 45 seconds

1000W - 1 minute

800W - 1 minute, 15 seconds

600W - 1 minute, 30 seconds

If microwave does not have a turntable, rotate the pack 90º halfway through heating. Carefully test pack temperature prior to use. If it is too hot, allow to cool to desired temperature.

Maximum temperature of the pack is reached approximately 3 minutes after removal from microwave. If a hotter temperature is desired after this time, heat in microwave for 10 seconds at HIGH power and test again. Repeat this process until desired temperature is reached. Place the pack in its fabric cover before applying directly to skin.

REHEATING: If the pack is to be reheated after 30 minutes of use, follow the above instructions but reduce the time by half.

HEATING FROM THE FREEZER: Place pack (not in fabric cover) in the microwave on DEFROST or 30% power for double the amount of time in the chart above. Allow to stand for 5 minutes, then follow the normal heating instructions.

TO USE COLD:

Place pack (not in fabric cover) in a freezer. The pack will reach the temperature of your freezer after one hour; however, it will remain flexible. Place the pack in its fabric cover before applying directly to skin.

CAUTION:

Should application become uncomfortable, remove the pack from the skin and wait a moment before reapplying. It is generally recommended that a hot or cold pack should only be applied to the skin for 20 minutes at a time with a 2-hour interval between applications. Do not use over sensitive skin areas or in the presence of poor circulation. The unattended use of this product by children, elderly or incapacitated persons may be dangerous. Cold therapy is not recommended for people with circulatory problems, Raynaud's syndrome, or diabetes without consent by your physician.
